A quarter of Khamenei's fortune would be enough to cover Iran's budget deficit
Analysis by PMOI/MEK
Iran, Aug. 2019 - How do the mullahs run Iran? Do you know how much is the government's budget for the current Persian calendar year (March 2019-March 2020)?
According to state-run Jahan-e Sanat newspaper, which quoted the vice president of the Planning and Budget Organization, the year's budget amounts to 448 trillion tomans (approx. $37bn). This budget was passed based on the sale of 300,000 barrels of oil per day.
The budget of the previous year was passed based on the sale of 1.5 million barrels of oil per day, and the year before that, the budget was based on 2.68 million barrels of oil per day.
Now, the ruling mullahs have suddenly remembered that the government has a 150-billion-toman budget deficit. Because of their destructive terrorist policies and their violent meddling in Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and other countries, they can't sell their oil, and the little amounts of oil they smuggle are sold at very low prices.
Presently, the mullahs are trying to cover the budget deficit through more destructive policies, such as withdrawing from the national reserve fund and selling public assets and bonds. Even if these plans don't fall victim to more corruption schemes (which is the won't with the mullahs), they will only cover half of the budget deficit.
Meanwhile, Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of the Iranian regime, sits on a personal $95 billion fortune, which is four times the government's budget deficit. While Khamenei and his Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) continue to line their pockets every day, the salaries of workers, teachers, drivers and other segments of the Iranian society continue to decline.
