Iranian regime sentences activist Atefeh Rangriz to heavy prison and flogging sentence Atefeh Rangriz, one of the activists arrested during Labor Day protests Iran, September 1, 2019 –An Iranian regime court sentenced Atefeh Rangriz, one of the activists arrested during Labor Day protests, to 11 and half years in prison and 74 lashes. The sentence was given in branch 28 of the Iranian regime's so-called revolutionary court, overseen by the criminal judge Mohammad Moghisei, an internationally known human rights offender. Iranian security forces arrested Atefeh Rangriz along with 35 other activists during a  peaceful protest on the occasion of Labor Day  in front of the regime's Majlis (parliament). Atefeh Rangriz Writes Of Horrific Situation In Qarchak Prison Aug 16, 2019 Political prisoner Atefeh Rangriz, who was  arrested during the Labor Day demonstration  in Tehran, released an open letter on August 15, 2019, describing the situation of Qarchak Prison in Varamin: “Qarchak Prison is the nickname of hell.” Qarchak Prison, also known as Shahr-e Rey Detention Center, is  where female prisoners are held . There is no separation of crimes in this prison and political prisoners are held along with ordinary criminals and dangerous prisoners. Five Women Among Protesters Detained In Mashhad Aug 15, 2019  Fifteen civil rights activists, including five women, were transferred from  Vakilabad Prison  to the Intelligence Department in Mashhad on Wednesday morning, August 14, 2019. The activists were arrested on Sunday, August 11, 2019, participating in a protest in front of the Mashhad court simultaneous to the trial of a university professor, Kamal Jafari Yazdi. Five women are among those detained, three of whom have been identified so far as  Hurriyeh Farajzadeh, Fatemeh Sepehri, and Pouran Nazemi .
