In a shocking admission on September 11, 2019, Ali Khoda’i, a member of the regime’s Supreme Council on Labor told Tasnim news agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards’ terrorist Qods Force, “3.5 million workers work in underground workshops. Their statistics are not recorded anywhere. These workshops are unofficial and unmarked. Tailors on Jomhouri Street have no worker identification cards… Workers in unregistered workshops are among the forgotten. There are plenty of temporary contracts in these workshops… Workers who deal with many labor contractors associated with the government, public and non-governmental entities are among those who sign temporary contracts with the contractors. Iran sentences 7 sugarcane workers to lashes for protests Aug 13, 2019  Seven workers of the Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Factory in the southwestern city of Shush were sentenced to eight months of suspended prison and 30 lashes each. According to the Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Syndicate, the workers were tried and sentenced by the 102 nd Branch of the Shush Criminal Court. The report said that 10 other workers from the factory would be tried tomorrow by the same court. Another worker was also summoned. One of the charges brought against the 10 workers is “disrupting public order by leading and being present in illegal gatherings and preventing the company’s activities”. The Syndicate also said that workers have been summoned for charges such as “publishing messages on the internet”. Iranians hold more than 260 protests in July   by   Adena Nima _05 Aug 2019 According to reports collected in July, there were 267 Iran protests in 78 cities, villages and industrial regions with an average of nine protests per day. Workers Workers staged 130 Iran protests in July in 41 cities, commercial areas and industrial towns with an average of four protests per day. The gatherings were mostly in protest to delayed paychecks, lack of job security, dismissal of workers, the non-renewal of workers’ contract, privatization and low wages.
