European Parliament Strongly Condemns Crackdown on Women in Iran Written by  Mahmoud Hakamian  on  20 September 2019 . The European Parliament on Thursday, September 19, 2019, adopted a  resolution  condemning Iran’s regime for violations of women’s rights in Iran. The resolution was adopted by 608 votes in favor, 7 against and 46 abstentions. On Sunday afternoon in the vicinity of the famous Vali-Asl Square in Tehran, a repressive state security agent approaches a young man who was walking down the street. The agent starts to harass the man accusing him of “hanging around.” The young man, as shown in the video footage, resists and reacts vigorously to the agent who had drawn his baton to attack him.
