Hear Iranian People’s Call for Justice October 8, 2019 Hear Iranian People’s Call for Justice In the summer of 1988, over 30,000 political prisoners were summarily executed throughout Iran, based on a Fatwa (religious decree) issued by Khomeini. The Fatwa reads, “it is decreed that those who are in prisons throughout the country and remain steadfast in their support for the Monafeqin [Mojahedin MEK/PMOI], are waging war on God and are condemned to execution.” Adding, “Those who are making the decisions must not hesitate, nor show any doubt or be concerned with details. They must try to be “most ferocious against infidels. For nearly 30 years, the families of the victims of mass executions in 1988 have been seeking answers but their voices have been silenced in Iran and ignored by the international community. The summer of 2016 began a turning point in the movement seeking justice in efforts to end impunity and prevent the continuation of this cycle which still continue...

1988 Massacre Memory Haunts Iran's Regime, UN Action Needed Published on  20 August 2019 . After 31 years, Iran’s 1988 massacre that sent over 30,000 political prisoners to the gallows over a few months based on a fatwa by Khomeini, has again become a live issue in Iranian society. Khomeini’s decree called for the execution of all political prisoners affiliated to the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran ( PMOI, Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK ) who remained loyal to the organization. ‘Death Commissions’ were formed across Iran sending political prisoners who refused to abandon their beliefs to execution. Political prisoners affiliated to other groups were executed in a second wave about a month later. The victims were buried secretly in mass graves. Relatives of victims testified in a live satellite television program last week about the event and revealed new secrets on how families had been, and continue to be, harassed by the regime to cover the massacre. They feel ...

Iran Human Rights Monitor Monthly Report – July 2019 Aug 5, 2019 Iran Human Rights Monitor Monthly Report – July 2019 Introduction: In the summer of 1988, Iran’s regime summarily and extra-judicially executed tens of thousands of political prisoners held in jails across Iran. The 1988 massacre was carried out on the basis of a fatwa by the regime’s Supreme Leader Ruhollah Khomeini. The majority of the inmates sent to the gallows were members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The perpetrators of this crime against humanity have never been held accountable. Worse still, some have been promoted to the most senior positions of the Iranian government and judiciary. Recently, two of the most vicious mullahs who are particularly responsible for the 1988 massacre, defended their crimes which reminds of the impunity that senior officials responsible for the killings have enjoyed. Mostafa Pour Mohammadi, former minister of justice and advisor t...

Amnesty International Urges Action Over Iran’s 1988 Massacre By Pooya Stone,  01 AUG 2019 Amnesty International has released a  statement  condemning the recent comments by a senior Iranian official defending the 1988 prison massacres and pointing out that the comments confirm that the regime has been breaking international human rights laws for over 30 years and give a sense of the sense of impunity those involved have been enjoying. Mostafa Pour Mohammadi, advisor to Iran’s head of the judiciary and a former minister of justice, accused those seeking justice for the massacre, including survivors, family members of the victims, and human rights defenders, of “terrorism” and “collusion” with Iran’s enemies, even threatening them with prosecution or the extermination of the Iranian Resistance. Worryingly, this was what the Regime before the  1988 massacres . Pour Mohammadi, who sat on the Death Commissions during the massacre and sent thousands to t...

A second Iranian regime official has admitted to the 1988 massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in Iran. Ali Razini, the Deputy of Legal Affairs and Judicial Development of the Judiciary,  spoke  to the Jamaran website, which is close to the family of Khomeini, on July 29, 2019, and confirmed that the extrajudicial killings were carried out on Khomeini’s order “without being held up by red tape.” He said the trials that led to the massacre was one of Khomeini’s last major decisions. Razini said: “One of the most important benefits of this edict was that the opponents who had taken part in the Mersad Operation were dealt with by ...
