Caspian, owned by the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), is one of several state-backed credit firms that are involved in a multi-billion-dollar government-run embezzlement case. In the past few years, these credit institutions have absorbed billions of dollars' worth of investment from ordinary Iranians with false promises of quick returns. Those promises never materialized. The people of Iran live in misery. How about their rulers? Poverty is literally institutionalized in Iran as over 80 percent of the population is desperately attempting to make ends meet Iran, Aug. 14, 2019  - Iran is a country where its people live in utter  poverty  while the lives of its rulers continue to become more luxurious every day. For example, a single mother starts at 7:00 am in a tailors’ workshop and finishes at 8:00 pm, a total of 13 hours of active working. Yet she is considered lucky, because contrary to millions of other Iranians, she has a “job” and could have a wage of 15 million rials. What happens to her income? She pays 3,000,000 rials in rent, 6,000,000 for the mortgages, 500,000 for water, gas, and electricity, 3,500,000 for a loan she took from the so-called public welfare fund, 4,000,000 for a loan she took for goods, 3,000,000 for a loan she took for the marriage of her daughter, 2,000,000 for basic foodstuff.
