International community urged to condemn the hideous crime On Tuesday, September 3, 2019, hundreds of people in Khorrambid (Qader-Abad) in the southern Iranian Province of Fars staged a demonstration outside the town’s Police precinct to protest against the heinous murder under torture of a 30-year-old man, Javad Khosravanian. Khosravanian had been detained by the security forces on August 30, 2019. The criminal officers of the local intelligence department tortured him to death while in detention and handed over his body to a local hospital. A video clip on the Internet shows clear signs of torture on the victim’s head and neck. Iranian regime mounts pressure against prisoners in Evin Evin Prison in Tehran Iran, September 1, 2019 –According to reports, Gholamreza Ziayi, the new chief of the Iranian regime's notorious Evin prison in Tehran, has been mounting repression against prisoners. Ziyai has adopted new rules which put more pressure on prisoners. One of these rules is the removal of health insurance plans for prisoners. This means that prisoners and their families are responsible to cover all the health and treatment costs of prisoners. Those who don't have the money are deprived of medical treatment. Even if a prisoner is dying, they won't be transferred to the medical center before paying for their treatment out of their own pockets. The new restrictions also include a limitation on family visits. Since three years ago, Iranian political prisoners were granted one visit every 28 days even if they didn't make any requests in advance. But the new head of Evin prison has revoked ...

Iran sentences 7 sugarcane workers to lashes for protests Aug 13, 2019  Seven workers of the Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Factory in the southwestern city of Shush were sentenced to eight months of suspended prison and 30 lashes each. According to the Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Syndicate, the workers were tried and sentenced by the 102 nd Branch of the Shush Criminal Court. The report said that 10 other workers from the factory would be tried tomorrow by the same court. Another worker was also summoned. One of the charges brought against the 10 workers is “disrupting public order by leading and being present in illegal gatherings and preventing the company’s activities”. The Syndicate also said that workers have been summoned for charges such as “publishing messages on the internet”.
