Iranian security forces beat young street vendor in Ahvaz

Iran, August 17, 2019 - On Thursday, agents of the Iranian regime’s municipality in Ahvaz beat a young street vendor in Ahvaz and confiscated his belongings.
One of the angry youth who was filming the scene said, “Is this a country? What kind of a country is this? These people are trying to earn a bite of bread!”
With rampant government corruption and unemployment taking its toll on the Iranian economy, many people have resorted to unconventional jobs to make ends meet. Street vendors and porters have increased in numbers, and they’re being regularly suppressed by security forces. Some people work in several shifts and jobs just to be able to pay for these expenses. The less fortunate resort to selling their body organs to escape poverty and keep food on their families’ tables.
