Pompeo Says Iran Regime's Oil Attack Was 'Act of War,' Trump Orders New Sanctions Written by  Mansoureh Galestan  on  19 September 2019 . United States President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he had ordered his Treasury Secretary to “substantially increase sanctions” imposed on Iran's regime, in the wake of its attack on Saudi oil facilities. U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo described the attack as “an act of war” against the world’s top oil exporter and said Washington wants to build a coalition of European and Arab partners to deter the Iranian regime. “This is an attack of a scale we’ve just not seen before,” Secretary Pompeo told reporters traveling with him before landing in the Saudi city of Jeddah for talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. “The Saudis were the nation that were attacked. It was on their soil. It was an act of war against them directly.” A U.S. official told Reuters the strikes originated in southwestern Iran. Three offic...

Khamenei Approved Saudi Oil Attack, U.S. Official Tells CBS News Written by  Mahmoud Hakamian  on  19 September 2019 . Last weekend's major attack on Saudi oil facilities was approved by the Iranian regime's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, but only on the condition that it be carried out in a way that made it possible to deny Iranian involvement,  a U.S. official told CBS News . Saudi Arabia on Wednesday displayed wreckage of the Iranian regime's cruise missiles and drones. The circuit boards can be reverse engineered to determine the exact route the weapons flew. But U.S. officials said the most damning evidence is still unreleased satellite photos showing the Iranian regime's Revolutionary Guards making preparations for the attack at Ahvaz Air Base in southwestern Iran. From there, the weapons flew through Kuwaiti airspace some 400 miles to their targets in Saudi Arabia. The satellite photos were of no use in stopping the attack since their significance wa...

mARYAM RAJAVI: ATTACK ON NEIGHBORING COUNTRY’S OIL INSTALLATIONS IS A MAJOR AND BELLIGERENT STEP   Statements of Maryam Rajavi Inaction only emboldens Iran’s religious dictatorship The Iranian regime’s coordinated missile and drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s oil installations is a blatant act of war. Subsequent to the attack, the clerical regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei rejected any negotiations at any level with the United States unless “America repented.” He also stressed, “They send the Europeans… to insist to us to come and have a meeting with the American President and all your problems will be solved. This is because they want to prove that the policy of maximum pressure is a success. On the contrary, we must prove that the policy of maximum pressure is not worth a penny.” Mrs.  Maryam Rajavi , the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran ( NCRI ), described the attack on a neighboring country’s oil installations a major s...

Tehran Regime Attack on Saudi Arabia Demands a Response

Image
Tehran Regime Attack on Saudi Arabia Demands a Response September 16, 2019 Clare M. Lopez The Iranian regime has been escalating its aggression all year, with attacks against oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz, outright seizure of commercial ships and crews, drone attacks against Saudi oil infrastructure by terror proxies in Iraq and Yemen, and now, a direct attack from Iranian territory by both drones and cruise missiles against Saudi Arabia. The 14 September 2019 attack on two of Saudi Arabia’s largest oil processing facilities (the Abqaiq and Khurais plants) reportedly took out nearly half of the Kingdom’s daily oil output, resulting in a 5% cut to overall world production. This is an act of war, direct, unequivocal, and with no room for plausible deniability. It must be met with an equally direct, prompt, kinetic response. It is up to the Saudi government, of course, to issue a statement that fixes responsibility for the attack firmly with the Tehran regime and...
