The regime’s Appeals Court in Tehran Province upheld the conviction of student activist Sina Darvish Omran. Darvish Omran, a student of German language translation at Tehran University, had been sentenced in June by the regime’s Revolutionary Court to eight years in prison and banned from political activity or participation in political parties, cyberspace, media, and press activities. Reports indicate that the trial of Marzieh Amiri, another student activist, and journalist, will also take place next week. Amiri was among tens activists who were beaten and arrested during the International Labor Day demonstration in front of the Majlis (Parliament) on May 1, 2019.
