Iranian regime sentences activist Atefeh Rangriz to heavy prison and flogging sentence Atefeh Rangriz, one of the activists arrested during Labor Day protests Iran, September 1, 2019 –An Iranian regime court sentenced Atefeh Rangriz, one of the activists arrested during Labor Day protests, to 11 and half years in prison and 74 lashes. The sentence was given in branch 28 of the Iranian regime's so-called revolutionary court, overseen by the criminal judge Mohammad Moghisei, an internationally known human rights offender. Iranian security forces arrested Atefeh Rangriz along with 35 other activists during a peaceful protest on the occasion of Labor Day in front of the regime's Majlis (parliament). She was later transferred to the Gharchak prison in Varamin, where female prisoners are held. Last month, 80 labor syndicates across the world condemned the arrest of Labor Day protesters in Iran.
