It is said that the deployments reinforce efforts to defend Saudi against the Iranian regime. EDITORIAL: Khamenei’s Well-Founded Fears Published on  11 October 2019 . Last week, the Iranian regime's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei broke his 40-day silence on the crises facing his regime. In a meeting with commanders of the terrorist Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) on October 2, Khamenei expressed “utter satisfaction” with their actions and described them as his “dear children.” While trying to be circumspect, Khamenei confessed to a wave of defections in the ranks of the IRGC and called on his commanders to be ready for “big incidents,” a euphemism for the tougher times that his regime will soon face. From October 6 to October 9, 2019, the  defiant youths  torched symbols of the mullahs’ regime, including large posters of Khomeini and Khamenei as well as suppressive centers such as Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and Bassij bases in different cities. Including in Shiraz, Orumiyeh, Kermanshah, Zahedan, Bandar-Abbas, Khorramabad, Khoy, Maku, and Lahijan. During the past few weeks, despite suppressive measures by the mullahs’ regime, the regime’s symbols and centers in many Iranian cities and provinces were set on fire by young activists. Human rights groups have called on the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet to launch an independent investigation into the 1988 massacre of thousands of political prisoners, primarily affiliated to the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI,  Mujahedin e Khalq or MEK ), by the Iranian regime. Numerous non-governmental organizations made the appeal to the UN human rights chief during the Human Rights Council’s 42 nd  session in Geneva.
