Iranian MP: Economic conditions breaking people's backs Long lines of people seeking to purchase meat in Iran Analysis by PMOI/MEK Iran, July 30, 2019  - As social crises grow, infighting in the ranks of Iran's regime increases. Iran’s Majlis (parliament), during its public session, was another scene of clashes between regime’s factions. Majlis member Mohsen Biglari addressed regime President Hassan Rouhani, while also acknowledging the dire  economic  and  social  situation stemming from the mullahs’ in capability. “Mr. Rouhani, please consider the economic and industrial situation of the country. People are under heavy economic pressure; quit referring to any social problem to the [U.S.] sanctions, we all know that 80% of the crises are due to mismanagement. With a 300% inflation rate, the 450,000 rials subsidies won’t help people,” Biglari said. “Mr. President, farmers, livestock farmers, employees, workers and teachers and m...

Iran: How hard-earned U.S. dollars are  smuggled out of the country More money is being smuggled outside of Iran Analysis by PMOI/MEK Iran, July 31, 2019  - In May, Hossein Mirshojaeean, former deputy minister of economy in Iran, said that about $30 billion of the total $40 billion that Iran made through exports has never returned to Iran, neither as imported goods nor as money. More recently, according to Eghtesad Online, an Iranian website specializing in economic news, Iran’s director of the Central Bank reported that about $18.5 billion from last year’s $40 billion in exports have returned to Iran. While even taking the comments of Iran’s Central Bank director into account leaves out the fate of 11.5 billion dollars, other governmental statistics suggest that more than 70 percent of the earned money through exports never returns to Iran. No need to say that the major problem here is the very same governmental institutions that function with im...

Iran: Inflation and corruption are two sides of the same coin Corruption and skyrocketing inflation are hallmarks of the regime ruling Iran 7/29/2019  Analysis by PMOI/MEK Iran, July 29, 2019  - While Iranian regime President Hassan Rouhani expressed his optimism for Iran’s economy in a cabinet meeting on July 23 and his first deputy, Eshaq Jahangiri, claimed that the mullahs have overcome the  economic crisis  and reached the shores of stability, Iranian media announced the next day that inflation has crossed the 40 percent threshold. Iranian state-run media reported on July 24 that inflation is 40.4 percent. “The government is the main culprit for increasing prices because by changing the price of the U.S. dollars that are used to import meat from 42,000 rials to more than 80,000 rials, they’ve created the conditions for increasing prices in the market,” they wrote citing Tehran’s pundits. Mohammad Gholi Youssefi, an Iranian ...

Where's the dollar going? Look at the internal and external factors of rising dollar prices in Iran The price of the dollar is moving in a moving direction. Is this climbing an extraterritorial cause and is caused by US positions against the mullahs and in the face of oil sanctions? Or, within the country, the components of the government increase the price of dollars by taking policies? Is it possible for the mullahs to escape from the current difficult conditions?  In front of this rentier community, the public is in the process of increasing the value of the rial of their earnings. Published on  09 September 2018 . By Amir Taghati The excessive imports and smuggling of goods is the main reason behind the ongoing close-downs of producing factories and units, and subsequently, the reason behind job loss as well. The increase in unemployment has become a major concern for many, including the CEO of domestic locomotive producers: “our locomotive, Mac 24, is produced domestically; if we import it instead of producing it ourselves, 500 of our workers will lose their jobs”. The negative impact of imports has become so significant that domestic productions are no longer in demand as much, which one domestic producer comments about in his TV interview: “Excessive imports have led stored instead”. Whilst expressing his disappointment, he continues: “When our media outlets heavily advertise foreign products for their own profits, it becomes inevitable that we reach the point we have reached now, where one factory is being closed after another” (July 30...
