Iran’s reactions to global condemnation of attacks on Saudi oil facilities

U.S. intelligence community released satellite images of the latest attack on Saudi oil facilities

Iran, September 16, 2019—The attack on Aramco oil facilities in eastern Saudi Arabia on Saturday, September 14, have resulted in a wide scope of global condemnations. Increasing reports are pointing fingers at Iran’s regime and denying the claim made by Tehran-backed Houthis in Yemen accepting responsibility for this recent assault.

“Iran launched nearly a dozen cruise missiles and over 20 drones from its territory in the attack on a key Saudi oil facility,” a senior U.S. official said to ABC.

Keyhan daily, a known mouthpiece of Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, wrote a telling reaction following these unprecedented turn of events.

“The attack on Saudi refiners and airports that once were considered strange and even impossible have all become very possible today… The Houthis said if the Saudis refuse to stop their attacks on Yemen, this time they will take over Riyadh,” the piece reads in part.

Javan daily, a mouthpiece for Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), wrote: “The world is awaiting the next attack by Yemen’s missile or drone units against vital and strategic targets inside Saudi Arabia.”

The IRGC was designated as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization” (FTO) by the U.S. State Department.

All the while, terrified of the consequences following these attacks, the mullahs’ regime has resorted to ridiculous measures aimed at covering its tracks.

Iranian regime Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif denied accusations raised by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo holding Tehran directly responsible for these attacks.

“Having failed at ‘max pressure’, @SecPompeo's turning to ‘max deceit’ US & its clients are stuck in Yemen because of illusion that weapon superiority will lead to military victory. Blaming Iran won't end disaster. Accepting our April '15 proposal to end war & begin talks may,” Zarif tweeted.

Spokesman of the Iranian regime’s Foreign Ministry spokesman also reflected Tehran’s growing concerns in this regard.

“Such remarks and measures resemble secret and intelligence organizations’ planning to taint our image to pave the path for future actions,” Abbas Mousavi said.

As a reminder, on November 3, 2018, Ahmad Alamalhoda, Khamenei’s representative in the city of Mashhad, clearly made threats tracing the path of the mullahs’ regime today.

“Ghaher missiles, along with the necessary technology, have been provided to the Ansarollah (Houthis)… Once Iran issues its orders, these are enough for the Saudi Aramco oil facility. It will be able to take down all these oil facilities,” he said.
