Iran, October 8, 2019—As regime authorities expand their nationwide crackdown against the Iranian people and especially target any voice of protests and dissent, members of “Resistance Units,” supporters of the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), are continuing their anti-regime campaign across the country by putting up images of Iranian opposition President Maryam Rajavi, head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) coalition.
Various large posters were placed in different locations of Tehran, Shiraz and Mashhad, three of Iran’s major cities.
Furthermore, according to an NCRI statement, defiant youths across the country set fire to icons of the Iranian regime and various sites affiliated to its different entities.
From October 3 to October 5, 2019, defiant Iranian youth torched huge posters of Khamenei and other symbols of the mullahs’ regime in Tehran and different cities such as Karaj, Sabzevar, Mashhad, Shiraz, Zahedan, Rezvanshahr, Fassa, Nowshahr, Semnan, and Kouhdasht. They posted pictures of the Resistance’s President-elect along with slogans such as “mullahs must go”, “rise up and bring down the religious dictatorship’ and “down with Khamenei, hail to Rajavi” in public places.
These activities coincided with the recent uprising of the residents of Lordegan. Yesterday angry youth set on fire Lordegan’s provincial governmental office, the office of Khamenei’s representative and Friday prayer leader, and a number of other governmental centers in the city.
