Iranian students, workers, creditors protests in several cities

Iran, October 9, 2019—Retirees from throughout Iran, consisting mainly of retired and currently active teachers, rallied outside the mullahs’ Planning and Budget Organization in Tehran, Iran, on Wednesday, October 9, protesting not receiving any answers to their demands. The crowd was growing in size at noon local time in the Iranian capital.
Protesters were holding signs reading:
“Retirees! Rise up against discrimination!”
“Where are our hygiene services? Where is our treatment? Death to oppressors!”
“High prices and inflation are killing the people!”
Hail to the brave workers of Azarab, Arak, who did not succumb to the clerical regime’s threats &intimidations, continuing their protest today. The regime again responded by tear gas, arrests, &beatings. Such oppression will be foiled by the courageous workers’ will power. #Iran

In the city of Arak, western Iran, employees of the Azarab factory launched a strike at 9 am local time on Wednesday by staging a march inside the factory’s production site.
Anti-riot units and state security forces had surrounded the entire factory complex in order to prevent the workers from exiting the site and reaching the streets to expand their protest gathering.

Students of dentistry in Golestan School of Medical Sciences in Gorgan, northern Iran, and students of the Hormozgan School of Dentistry in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, held protest gatherings on Tuesday, protesting an increase in the number of students accepted to these schools and the shortage of adequate necessities and equipment. The protesting students were seen holding signs reading, “Dental School is being destroyed.”

On Tuesday, a group of clients of the “Maskan-e Mehr” credit firm held a rally outside the judiciary office of the town of Qarchak, southeast of Tehran, protesting firm officials’ refusal to provide the houses they have purchased.
The protesters, mostly consisting of the country’s poor lower class and have worked hard to obtain the money needed to purchase these houses or have provided their entire savings to purchase a house, have held numerous protest gatherings, all falling on deaf ears among regime officials.
In different locations across Tehran, clients of the Caspian credit firm, associated directly to the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), held gatherings outside a regime institution, protesting the plundering of their life savings and officials’ refusal to provide any answers.
The protesting Caspian clients were chanting:
“The bankrupt government is sitting on our money!”
In the Aladdin shopping complex of the Iranian capital, mobile phone owners held a gathering on Tuesday protesting officials demanding customs taxes at the complex entrance.
