Iraq, October 6, 2019—Two members of the Iraqi Parliament by the names of Ahmed al-Jabouri and Faeq al-Sheikh Ali are accusing Qassem Soleimani, head of the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force of murdering Iraqi demonstrators during the recent protests spreading across central and southern Iraq.
Reports indicate over 100 Iraqi demonstrators have been murdered and over 4,000 are wounded as protests are becoming a major concern for both the Iranian regime and the government of Iraq.
Al Arabiya wrote, “Iraqi MP Ahmed al-Jabouri said on Saturday, October 5, that IRGC Quds Force chief Qassem Soleimani is responsible for the murder of Iraqi demonstrators.” Based on information available to him, Soleimani, with the support of one of his operatives by the name of ‘Haj Hamed,’ has launched a war room in Baghdad aiming to assassinate activists and leaders of this movement. He has dispatched a group of snipers, led by Haj Hamed, to command and control various operations aimed at murdering demonstrators and peaceful protesters.
“A large number of demonstrators headed towards Baghdad’s Tahrir Square, Andalos Square and the Iraqi Airlines building on Saturday afternoon,” al-Jabouri said.
“Due to the bloody crackdown against the demonstration and using snipers against the protesters, the Iraqi people are determined to expand their demonstration as much as possible, making this movement stronger and more widespread,” he added. Baghdad and many other cities of southern Iraq witnessed continuing protests on Saturday. Reports of these protests usually arrive in the late midnight hours due to a massive internet blackout imposed on the country.

“The Iranian regime is murdering us… this is no longer a secret. The Friday prayer imam of Tehran specifically said, ‘The protesting Iraqi demonstrators are American operatives. Murder them!’” said Iraqi MP Faeq al-Sheikh Ali. “Those murdering the Iraqis are snipers mercenaries and the true enemies of the Iraqi nations who are targeting the demonstrators.”

In further reports on Saturday’s protests, demonstrators in the city of Nasiriyah in southern Iraq stormed and set fire to the Dawa Party office. Former Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki, known for his close ties to the Iranian regime, is the leader of this party. This report was confirmed by Reuters.
The Associated Press reported Iraqi officials and a member of the semi-official Iraqi Human Rights Commission are saying thousands of demonstrators in two southern cities have poured into the streets and set fire to the offices of the Dawa Party and the Badr Organization, also known for its very close relations with Tehran’s mullahs.
Security forces responded by opening fire on the demonstrators, according to Iraqi officials, while describing the demonstration in Nasiriyah as a very large rally.
The Iraq Al-Hurra website said one individual was killed and two others were wounded in the clashes outside the Badr Organization office in Nasiriyah.
