SENATOR LIEBERMAN: THE NEW DAWN FOR IRAN WITH MEK AT ASHRAF 3  13 July 2019 This weekend Senator Joseph Lieberman participated in a gathering in solidarity for freedom in Iran that was  held in Ashraf-3  city in Albania where, as the Senator put it, there was nowhere else he’d rather be on that day. The Senator reminded everyone of the time that the residents, members of the MEK Iranian resistance group, were stranded in Iraq under direct attacks of the Iranian regime. He described the time as “hell of Camp Liberty” and expressed his happiness that the residents are finally living in safety in Ashraf-3.
