2020 Democrats should support Trump's Iran policy, not pledge to rejoin 2015 nuclear deal Joseph I. Lieberman   Opinion contributor Published 10:25 AM EDT Sep 9, 2019 Iranian energy official Behrouz Kamalvandi says "there's not much time left" to save the nuclear agreement Iran entered into four years ago with the United States and several other countries. That is encouraging because this is an agreement that should not be saved. From the beginning, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was a bad agreement for the United States and our allies in the region. That's because it only paused Iran’s nuclear project, instead of ending it, and did nothing to stop Iran’s aggression against its neighbors, or its support of terrorism, or its brutal repression of the Iranian people. President Donald Trump saved the world from the worst of the JCPOA when he withdrew America from it last year and imposed broad new economic sanctions...

People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK): 54 Years After Its Founding, The Central Democratic Alternative for Iran’s Regime SEPTEMBER 09, 2019 Ms. Zahra Merrikhi, Secretary-General of the MEK Today, after 40 years of religious dictatorship in Iran’s political arena, this regime is besieged by crises in all political, social and economic areas, and so on. The Iranian society is also inflamed and ready to revolt against the Velayat-e Faqih (absolute rule of the mullahs) regime. In such circumstances, what reassures the Iranian people of the future of a country with its enormous role in civilization, culture and human history is the existence of a democratic alternative to this religious dictatorship in the Iranian opposition coalition  National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) . The  NCRI  coalition, comprised of Iranian political organizations, groups, and personalities, was founded in 1982 by  Massoud Rajavi , the historical  PM...

Iran: Dropout students are the mullahs’ latest present for the youth ( Street children in Iran (File Photo Iran, September 9, 2019 —On the eve of a new school year, sweet memories of the years past remind us of the best periods of life, where the foundations for the next generation and the future of a country are set. This would be true, if not for the ruling mullahs in Iran. According to UNESCO, any and every kid from 6 to 18 years old should regularly visit a place to further their education, but increasing numbers of youth in Iran under the mullahs’ regime are not able to do so. According to the latest results of the Statistical Center of Iran based on a detailed nation-wide survey conducted in 2017, 1.5 to 2 million Iranian minors are either unable to visit a school or are illiterate. But Hafizollah Fazeli, a government manager in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, southern Iran, says that there are currently “3.5 million children” in Iran “who are not studying....

Iran Regime Yields Under Pressure. Firmness Is the Only Answer Sep 9, 2019 Written by  Mohammad Sadat Khansari  on  06 September 2019 . The West keeps repeating, again and again, the same mistakes in dealing with Iranian state terror based on illusions, argues Claude Moniquet of the Brussels-based  European Strategic Intelligence and Security Center (ESISC). “A step back is necessary to fully understand what is at stake. By March 2018, Iranian operatives had already been arrested in  Albania  for plotting an attack on a compound belonging to Iran’s leading democratic opposition group,  the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (MEK) . Had the plan not been uncovered, there is no telling how many of the 3,000 residents might have been killed. Other Iranian terrorist plots were uncovered in 2018, in Germany, Netherlands, and Denmark,”  Mr. Moniquet wrote in the Issues & Insights journal  on September 5, 2019.  “So it sh...

U.S. Will Sanction Whoever Purchases Iran Regime's Oil: Official Written by  Mohammad Sadat Khansari  on  08 September 2019 . The United States will continue to impose sanctions on whoever purchases the Iranian regime’s oil or conducts business with the regime's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and no oil waivers will be re-issued, a U.S. official told Reuters on Sunday. “We will continue to put pressure on Iran and as President (Trump) said there will be no waivers of any kind for Iran’s oil,” said Sigal Mandelker, U.S. Treasury Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence. Mandelker added that the Iranian regime's oil sales have taken a “serious nose dive” because of U.S. pressure. Tehran’s crude oil exports were slashed by more than 80% due to the re-imposed sanctions by Washington after President Donald Trump exited last year the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran's regime and world powers. Since ditching the nuclear deal, calling ...

Iran Regime Says It Has the Capacity to Raise Uranium Enrichment Beyond 20% Written by  Amir Taghati  on  08 September 2019 . The Iranian regime said on Saturday it was now capable of raising  uranium enrichment  past the 20% level, in violation of the 2015 international nuclear deal with world powers. “We have started lifting limitations on our Research and Development imposed by the deal...It will include the development of more rapid and advanced centrifuges,” the regime's nuclear agency spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi told a televised news conference. “The European parties to the deal should know that there is not much time left, and if there is some action to be taken (to salvage the nuclear deal), it should be done quickly.” Since May, Iran's regime has begun to scale back its commitments to the pact. The deal capped the number of centrifuge enrichment machines installed in Iran at roughly 6,000, down from around 19,000 before 2015, Reuters ...
