MEK's role in Iran can no longer be denied Scenes of the 2019 “Free Iran” conference in Ashraf 3, home to members of the Iranian opposition, People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) Iran, Aug. 15, 2019  - Iran's mullahs are going through a crisis. The chain-reactions of both factions of the Iranian regime express their fears and concerns after the sanction against the regime's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif coincided with the escalation of activities by the Iranian opposition group People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran ( PMOI/MEK ) against the regime both inside and outside Iran. The regime complains why the U.S.  sanctioned  their senior diplomat in the nuclear agreement. Ironically, even regime officials who are against the nuclear deal negotiations complained about the sanctions against Zarif as their effective lever in the negotiations. The regime's president Hassan Rouhani stated earlier, "You say you are ready for neg...

Iran media: “World doesn’t recognize our government, Foreign Ministry” Iranian regime Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif Iran, Aug. 16, 2019  - The state-run  Arman  daily in Iran is voicing new concerns about the consequences of the United States’ decision to  sanction  the mullahs’ Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. “What is currently witnessed in the political atmosphere across the globe is that many international figures and entities no longer recognize our government and the Foreign Ministry as the entity behind Iran’s foreign policy apparatus. To a large extent they have reached the conclusion that they should only engage with the main people in power in regards to regional and international collaborations,” the article reads. “Inside the country, there is a certain type of extremism in issues related to Zarif and a certain effort is creating a climate of pressure on him, and as a result, on the diplomatic apparatus,” the artic...

Hundreds of thousands of Iranian students are unable to continue school Hundreds of thousands of school kids in Iran are forced to quit school to help their poor families make ends meet Iran, Aug. 16, 2019  - While the Iranian regime from day one of its establishment claimed to be a heaven for the poor and needy, it’s the poor who suffer the most under its rule, causing the rise of the super-rich and the dirt-poor classes among the Iranian society. The Islamic republic’s constitution considers education until the end of high school a basic right that should be provided for free. In practice, however, public schools have lost all their credibility and quality. In an article published on August 11, Javan newspaper, close to the  terrorist-designated  Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps ( IRGC ), digs into the so-called privatization of education. “This drive was launched years ago and is resulting now in a situation where there isn’t even a single stu...

Exclusive: China-owned oil tanker changes the name in apparent effort to evade U.S. sanctions SINGAPORE/KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - While in the Indian Ocean heading toward the Strait of Malacca, the very large crude carrier (VLCC) Pacific Bravo went dark on June 5, shutting off the transponder that signals its position and direction to other ships, ship-tracking data showed. A U.S. government official had warned ports in Asia not to allow the ship to dock, saying it was carrying Iranian crude in violation of U.S. economic sanctions. A VLCC typically transports about 2 million barrels of oil, worth about $120 million at current prices. On July 18, the transponder of the VLCC Latin Venture was activated offshore Port Dickson, Malaysia, in the Strait of Malacca, about 1,500 km (940 miles) from where the Pacific Bravo had last been signaling its position. But both the Latin Venture and the Pacific Bravo transmitted the same unique identification number, IMO9206035, issued by...

Official EU policy should reflect European support for #Iran resistance

Official EU policy should reflect European support for #Iran resistance have long advocated for a firm policy in dealing with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and I was by no means alone among the members of the European Parliament, where I used to serve for 10 years. In fact, supporters of something like the US strategy of “maximum pressure” are not even confined to one side of the political spectrum,   writes Jim Higgins (pictured, above). By   Jim Higgins Aug 16th, 2019 _ They run the gamut of political affiliations and geographic locations, and if they have anyone feature in common it is probably an all-too-rare recognition of the fact that the international community has policy options which do not involve either embracing or waging war upon the existing Iranian regime. Everything I know about fellow advocates for maximum pressure was re-confirmed last month when I attended a rally and international conference in Albania, at the recently-completed residen...
