Seven men sentenced to amputation and whipping in Iran Aug 14, 2019 Amputation Iran The regime in Iran has sentenced seven men accused of theft, whipping and amputation of the hand and fingers.  According to the official Khorassan daily, the 8th chamber of the Tehran Criminal Court sentenced the "brigands" chief, named Ali, to have his hand amputated, while his accomplice, Shahine, was sentenced to the amputation of four fingers of the right hand. The other five accomplices were sentenced to five years in prison and 74 lashes each. The amputation of the hand and the lashes for the five men were confirmed by the Supreme Court. The official newspaper said the men belonged to a gang that burgled villas of wealthy Iranians in Tehran. It has been reported that in the past few weeks, a number of Kurdish porters have been killed or injured by regime agents. Sources concerned with human rights have said that porters have been fired at by agents of the notorious Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). A number of porters have been killed and dozens have been injured. Reports say that state security forces killed a young man identified as Reza Ebrahimi. Another porter was injured in the same incident. On another occasion, border patrol agents in the city of Sardasht in the western part of the country shot and injured a young porter.
