For example, a single mother starts at 7:00 am in a tailors’ workshop and finishes at 8:00 pm, a total of 13 hours of active working. Yet she is considered lucky, because contrary to millions of other Iranians, she has a “job” and could have a wage of 15 million rials. What happens to her income? She pays 3,000,000 rials in rent, 6,000,000 for the mortgages, 500,000 for water, gas, and electricity, 3,500,000 for a loan she took from the so-called public welfare fund, 4,000,000 for a loan she took for goods, 3,000,000 for a loan she took for the marriage of her daughter, 2,000,000 for basic foodstuff.
