Iranian state-run media terrified of MEK's internet influence Keyhan daily editor-in-chief Hossein Shariatmadari Analysis by PMOI/MEK Iran, Aug. 9, 2019  - The state-run Keyhan newspaper shed light on the Iranian regime’s fear of the Iranian opposition group People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran ( PMOI/MEK ).  “Everyone saw the picture of the MEK cyber army in Albania which was published days ago and realized how close they are to our children… our cultural and virtual authorities are in a deep slumber. The MEK has infiltrated our houses and has a huge impact on the youth. In a single unit, they have 1,500 people pumping inhumane thoughts to our people. Now the question is who has paved the way for the MEK and gave them the entrance key?” the Keyhan piece asked with great concerns. It is worth noting that the Keyhan daily is known as the mouthpiece of Iranian regime Supreme Leader  Ali Khamenei .

The regime’s Appeals Court in Tehran Province upheld the conviction of student activist Sina Darvish Omran. Darvish Omran, a student of German language translation at Tehran University, had been sentenced in June by the regime’s Revolutionary Court to eight years in prison and banned from political activity or participation in political parties, cyberspace, media, and press activities. Reports indicate that the trial of Marzieh Amiri, another student activist, and journalist, will also take place next week. Amiri was among tens activists who were beaten and arrested during the International Labor Day demonstration in front of the Majlis (Parliament) on May 1, 2019. The head of Iran's Nursing Organization admitted on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, that Iran is facing a shortage of 150,000 nurses due to the emigration of Iranian nurses. The reason for nurses leaving the country, the official said, is low salaries in Iran, adding, "Everyday, the emigration of nurses from Iran is increasing because Iranian nurses are welcomed in foreign countries." "We are looking to give hope to 60,000 nursing students, but it would be noted, if our nurses get $250 [monthly] in Iran, Arab countries give them $2,500," Asghar Dalvandi added. His remarks were published by the Fars News Agency, affiliated to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards. On Wednesday, August 7, the Iranian regime’s Appeals Court in Tehran sentenced Massoud Kazemi, a dissident journalist, to 4.5 years in prison. Kazemi was sentenced by Branch 36 of the Appeals Court in Tehran to two years in prison for insulting the regime’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei, two years in prison for ostensibly ‘publishing lies,’ and six months for insulting other officials of the regime. Kazemi previously worked with the regime's state-run Sharq and Qanoun newspapers and the state-run Seda-ye Parsi monthly magazine. He had been arrested by the regime’s Revolutionary Guards at his home in Tehran on November 5, 2018. He was later released but rearrested on May 22, 2019.
